e you haven't noticed, one of the biggest toy lines to hit the best sellers lists this year has been the Zhu Zhu hamsters. These furry little pet toys have caused such a storm with kids and families that retailers around the world have been selling out at a dizzying rate. They are tipped to be the most wanted toys for Christmas, but what is it that has made them so popular?

These are small, inexpensive toys that make some noises and run around on the floor, or in their specially made play sets. Their huge appeal probably lies in their simplicity. Every once in a while there comes a toy that isn't overflowing with features, bells and whistles, which can be enjoyed for what it is- a toy. I would imagine that would be a certain element of the popularity of these delightful little toy pets. Word of mouth has also been very strong indeed with these fuzzy toy pets, and once the hype started building, there was no stopping them!

One good aspect of these toys is that they can be enjoyed just as easily without the extra play sets that are available. They are small enough for little hands to use easily, and their noses are buttons, which trigger noises and movements when they run into walls or other objects around the house. The play sets that are available are pretty much like the sort of things you would give to a real hamster, but there are other more bizarre add-ons like cars an suchlike that you really wouldn't put a live animal into! It is important that children know the difference between these toys and real pets.

Drawbacks to the Zhu Zhu hamsters toys can include the limited battery life (especially when played with for lengthy periods) and the tendency for the toys to fall off things if not watched properly. That said, they are wonderful fun for kids to enjoy, providing safe and pleasant play on a small and controlled scale. One difficulty with the range is that some of these toys have become so scarce in some areas that the prices of them from collectors and some outlets online have skyrocketed, so it would be in your best interests to have a look around at a few places on the internet before deciding which merchant is the one for you.

Thankfully, these popular toys are available online at low prices, meaning you can avoid the speculators and avoid having to pay a small fortune. While the Zhu Zhu pets hamster toys may not have the longevity of some other brands and toys, they are sure to bring some smiles (and squeaks) to your home this Christmas.

Is it a Hamster or is it a Guinea Pig? We think it looks more like a Guinea Pig!! We're not real sure what it is, but we can tell you one thing. It's one of the most sought after toys of the year and because of this, they are selling for unheard of prices on eBay.

They are rather cute but let's face it, it's a furry stuffed rodent on wheels. We all know the real reason we all want theses furry little rat, hamsters. It's because our kids want them, they're in limited supply, and very few people are going to be fortunate enough to have one underneath their Christmas tree this year.  What I don't understand is... Why do Zu Zu Pet TV commercials still run? It's not like you can just walk in to your local Wal-Mart and buy a Zu Zu Pet?

The good news is, you can be that special parent, or family member that is able to give this special little hamster to someone this year. And yes, it's better than the real thing. Zu Zu Pet hamsters don't eat, poop, bite, breed, eat their young, keep us up at night, or die.

Ok, I admit it... I bought 2 Zu Zu Pet hamsters. The first was Chunk at a bargain price (because the seller had his name misspelled in their listing), soon followed by Pipsqueak. Store's being out of stock wasn't going prevent both my kids from having these little guys!! I know my daughter and son will just love their Zu Zu Pets for Christmas

If you can get all of this information, then you may actually have a pretty good chance of finding the Zhu Zhu Pets you want. If anything, you would be lucky to get any indication of when the next Zhu Zhu shipment might arrive, and how many days in advance you should plan to camp outside of the store waiting for them to arrive.

Shop Online: Unless you enjoy driving around all day looking for that one hamster your child really really wants, then it's time to check online for your hamster. This makes for an abundant supply available for purchase right at your fingertips. The only issue: finding the Zhu Zhu Pets you want, especially the Zhu Zhu hamsters, for anything less than 2x to 3x (or more) the retail price is currently very difficult. If a certain Zhu Zhu Pet is one of, if not the, toy your child "really really wants" this Christmas, you may have no choice but to pay a bit extra for that one special Zhu Zhu.
